Helped out with a Disciple Now with a church here in Springfield.  It was a wonderful time.

School starts tomorrow.  I'm pumped.  I've met all the guys on my floor and I think it's gonna be a great year.  Later homies.  Off to more opening weekend fun!

Wednesday, July 19, 2006

This morning I saw, participated, and enjoyed one of the most encouraging and uplifting things I have experienced in a while.  I just happened to walk in during the start of worship time for the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders at VBS here at LSCC.  Now I am giving a very rough estimate of how many kids there were, but I would have to guess around 150.  Now these 150 kids were singing louder and praising God with more joy and excitement than I have seen in a while, or even done myself.

"How great is our God, sing with me how great is our God, and all will see how great, how great, is our God!"

Those words, among others were the words that these kids were singing out at the top of their lungs.  All I could think about and began to pray for was that every single one of those kids will continue in their relationships with God and grow closer to Him every day.  I was so excited in thinking about their futures and the impact they could have on this world for Christ.

Since then there has been some added excitement and joy to my day.  It was one of the best ways I think a day could begin, and was as good a beginning (or any part of a day) as I think I could experience at all.

The end.
